webdav connection

Webdav connection

I am having problems with setting up a webdav connection. I keep getting the error: "The folder you entered does not appear to be valid.". I have not seen any comments on webdav so I am wondering if there are any issues?
Thanks, Glenn

Glenn,
There
shouldnt be any issues with basic webdav access. I'm assuming you are seeing the error on the *vista client* while trying to setup a connection to the webdav folder. Can you post what is the command which is failing ? (Are you opening the folder in explorer or doing anything else)
Also what sku are you running on the client ?
Thanks ! Prashanth

Yes, I am trying to connect to a Webdav service using the Vista computer. I am running build 5308 and I am connecting by right clicking on the Computer window and click the "Add a Network Place". This brings up a wizard. I click Next then double click "Chose another network connection" The error appears after I enter the http://Server/share in the Internet Address field and press Enter.
Thanks, Glenn

Glenn,
Assuming all the other debugging doesnt reveal this to be a other configuration issue, can you send me the network capture (using netmon or ethereal) when the operation fails ?
Thanks ~ Prashanth

I haven't done it with WebDAV, but I recall seeing a similar error when trying to connect to an FTP site through Internet Explorer. When I connected through an Explorer (folder) window, it connected without that message.
I think I was also able to get around it in IE by choosing File > Log On through Explorer or something like that. Sorry, don't recall the details and not totally sure if it's relevant.

I guess it was just the first thing that came to mind when prompted for a nickname somewhere along the line way back when. I just like the smell of puppy breath.
